When we think about golf clubs, Ping and Callaway come to mind, and with golf balls it is usually Titleist. So, when we talk about golf shoes, the number one brand that comes to mind is Footjoy golf shoes. Why? Let’s take a look at the company and their products.
Footjoy have been around for a very long time; it all started in 1857 with the Burt and Packard Shoe Company which soon became Field and Flint Company. In 1927, they brought out the Footjoy line of golf shoes and they became the official golf shoe for the American Ryder Cup team, which was captained by Walter Hagen.
By 1945, Footjoy golf shoes became the number one shoe on the US PGA Tour, but it wasn’t until 1970 that the Field and Flint Company became known as Footjoy, Inc. They later branched out to produce their now famous golf gloves and then they introduced golf socks and outerwear.
