A Callaway Golf Review - Callaway Golf Drivers
posted in Golf Equipment |
There is no doubt that Callaway Golf is a very popular golf equipment manufacturer. It seams that everyone from the casual golfer all the way up to Phil Mickelson and Lorena Ochoa rely on their Callaway Golf equipment. So what makes Callaway such a popular choice for so many golfers? In this Callaway Golf review I will go through some of the latest innovations and the Callaway philosophy.
First, the Callaway philosophy is to “Make Every Golfer a Better Golfer.” How does Callaway Golf make every golfer a better golfer? Well, it seams that they are always working to raise their game with their search for innovation and better performance.
Their drivers are designed and built to help golfers improve distance and accuracy and optimize shot shape to suit their game. With irons, the performance goals center on feel and consistency, along with getting the ball airborne from any lie, in any conditions.
Callaway Golf offers a wide range of products, each with advanced technology and a variety of options suited to every type of player. From clubs, to golf balls and accessories, they undertake countless tests to ensure that each product they offer is an improvement on those that preceded it.
The founder, Ely Callaway, believed in helping golfers of all skill levels find more enjoyment out of the game of golf, and it appears that they carry on that tradition with a passion for the game and their mission of helping every golfer become a better golfer.
Let’s take a look at a few of the latest Callaway Golf drivers to see what all the fuss is about.
Callaway Golf Drivers
Drivers like the Callaway Golf FT-i, FT-i Tour, FT-5, and the FT-5 Tour driver, all offer titanium club faces, carbon composite bodies which moves more weight to where it is needed, and the OptiFit weighting system. The OptiFit weighting system allows you to customize the club to suit your swing by offering three center of gravity locations to choose from; draw, neutral, or fade.
The Callaway Golf Hyper X Tour Driver offers an all titanium head with Hyperbolic Head technology. This improves impact efficiency and produces the largest effective hitting area of any Callaway Golf all-titanium driver for higher ball speeds. The Hyper X makes a great driver for the beginner or casual golfer as it is very forgiving, more accurate, and can even reward you with longer shots when hit of center.
The Callaway Big Bertha 460 driver has been around since 1991. There have been many changes since and today’s Big Bertha driver is as technologically advanced as the rest of the Callaway drivers.
Callaway Golf engineers have incorporated a 460cc head design with a shallower face, flatter shape and the highest MOI ever in a Callaway Golf all titanium head. What all that means is a longer and straighter ball flight on even off-center shots. The Stretched head design allows for optimum ball flight and maximum forgiveness.
All the above clubs have various custom fitting options. You can choose between men’s and women’s right or left handed clubs; OptiFit weighting draw, neutral, or fade; lofts of 9, 10, 11, or 13 degrees, 7 different shaft manufacturers; and dozens of different shaft flex options. Note: The Tour models have half degree lofts of 8.5, 9.5, and 10.5 degrees.
My favourite Callaway Golf driver range has to be the i-Mix Drivers. Technologically advanced customization allows golfers to select from 22 Tour-proven FT-i and FT-5 club heads, combined with dozens of shaft choices allows you to create multiple versions of a driver.
Each i-Mix club head comes with a torque wrench for easy interchanging of shafts. It provides high torque with an indicator that let’s you know when the shaft is correctly connected.
As you can see, Callaway Golf continues to be at the cutting edge of technology when it comes to their drivers (and other golf equipment.) If there is one thing to learn from this Callaway Golf review though, it is that these clubs can help you improve your shot making, but don’t expect miracles.
There are many components that go into a perfect golf swing and the golf club is only one of them. You will still need to have the right grip, stance, setup position, and ball position to start with. Your fundamental golf swing has to be decent and consistent.
The benefit to these Callaway Golf clubs is that they are more forgiving and they can correct slight golf swing faults. You also get to custom fit your clubs, which is extremely important to the way you will be able to swing your clubs. So, go ahead and check out all the Callaway Golf range of clubs and accessories by visiting Callaway Golf today.
