101 Stretching Exercises For Golf
posted in Golf Training |
By now, you probable realize that I am a fan of being fit for golf. If you work your golf specific muscles you will increase the power of your golf swing and therefore increase your distance. Also, you will have better balance, stamina, and even consistency. A good golf fitness plan also has to include stretching exercises for golf.
It is no good just building up your muscles, you have to have increased flexibility to take advantage of your new power. You need a good range of motion in your hips, back, knees, shoulders, and wrists. If you have tight and restricted muscles you are more likely to injure yourself playing golf.
A lot of the time those poor shots when you pull or push the ball, hit thin or fat shots, or have trouble getting the ball in the air are a result of your body only being able to produce a swing that causes those miss hits; by improving your range of motion you will also improve your golf swing.
You should seriously consider stretching exercises for golf as part of your overall golf fitness plan. The increased flexibility that results will improve your distance, accuracy, and consistency. You will reduce the possibility of suffering from lower back pain and other golf related injuries. Flexibility is such an important part of muscle posture, balance, and coordination – all of which can benefit your golf swing.
A poor golf swing is often the result of tight shoulders stemming from lack of flexibility in the mid back region. Studies of less skilful golfers have revealed that they have half the trunk turn that the professional golfers have. Can you imagine? Only half the movement in the golf swing! No wonder the average weekend golfer complains of lack of distance.
If you feel that you could be playing better golf it will probably be because of a lack of flexibility. You can’t expect to sit in front of a computer at work all day and then go out for a round of golf at the weekend and expect to play to your potential. If you do no other exercises, at least consider stretching exercises for golf.
The good news is that a new golf fitness guide has just come out that deals with stretching exercises for golf. It is the most comprehensive guide of its kind and something that was sorely missing, considering all the talk on golf flexibility. The guide is called 101 Stretches For Golf and is by Susan Hill.
The best news of all is that Susan Hill is behind this golf stretching guide. She is a professional golf fitness trainer and an avid golfer. She earns her living by training PGA professionals as well as competitive players of all levels and recreational golfers. She has been featured in many top golf publications like Golf Illustrated as well as ESPN and internet radio shows dealing with golf fitness. If she is the one that top pros turn to when they have something that doesn’t feel right in their swing, don’t you think she can help us amateur golfers?
I suggest that if you are serious about your golf or you just want to play better then you should try out this stretching exercise for golf guide. Don’t feel daunted by the fact that there are 101 stretches for golf; you can start out with exercises that deal specifically to a problem you might have. Like Bob, an owner of this guide, who knew he had a problem with lack of flexibility in his shoulders that was affecting his golf swing. He grabbed just three of the stretches dealing with the shoulders and he was soon hitting the ball 10 yards further!
If you know what I am telling you makes sense and you want to improve your golf game, then go check out 101 Stretches For Golf now. This is the guide that I have been waiting for to help me with my lower back pain caused by back surgery 15 years ago.
